Chair Poet in Residence Program invites foreign poets and Indian poets from outside West Bengal to undertake a residency in Kolkata in the months of December and January. The writers are offered the opportunity to work on a manuscript and to familiarise themselves with city's heritage, culture and literature. |

The 2019 edition of the Chair Poetry Evenings will witness poets and poetry from Portugal, Belgium, USA, Australia, France, Hungary, Chile, and from various corners of India. From the inaugural event at Jora Sanko Thakurbari and Walks through the City to Poetry on the Cruise in the Ganges, this annual festival will celebrate poetry in various heritage venues of Kolkata.
